Blurred Lines music video analysis

Music videos

Blurred lines- very bright fleshy colours being used to exagerate the exposure of the woman, especially as they are wearing see through plastic in some cases. As the men are dressed in black suits perhaps hinting that they are in dominating colours. The choreography seems to be all improvised but works fairly well.
The camera shots vary from close ups to medium close ups which focuses on the dancing and body language on a very simple set with good lighting.

Sex Sells. This video has had over 90 million youtube views.
There is another 'uncut'/'unrated' version of this video featuring the same women dancers either totally or partially naked.  Although it is bordering on the (soft) pornographic it seems to be acceptable to a wide audience and it certainly gets the point across.
One doesn't have to be as blatant as this artist when it comes to making a music video, however one must not forget the visual power of a good looking woman and I  intend to make my video as glamourous and attractive as possible.

this music video does not particularly have a narritive but has a range of different shots and props to keep the imagery interesting. The most popular shot used is the medium shot which captures people from the waist up which focusses on their facial expressions and props.

Fatty Boom Boom music video analysis

Die Antwoord - Fatty Boom Boom

Although, in my opinion the 'I fink u freeky' video by Die Antwoord is artistically superior to 'Fatty Boom Boom' and my particular favourite ,  I've chosen this one because it ridicules mainstream music videos by taking a Lady Ga Ga figure and subjecting her to the harsh realities of life in South Africa.
A reminder and an inspiration to me not to be too conformist in my approach to my video.
The costumes used are very eye catching and controversial which is another reason why this music video is so popular. They're are 3 different sets being used in this music video: the street corner, graffiti back ground which has 10 headed monster with mainstream artists such as Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Lady gaga and Pitbull, this is just taking a stab at the quality of mainstream music and how the music business is more manufactured, the final set is a dark set where instead of the woman singer has a dark face she has a pale white face, so all in all the sets correspond with the costumes used.
