Papaoutai music video analysis

Stromae -  Papaoutai

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiKj0Z_Xnjc

this is a very powerful music video as it depicts on a touching story, and although the song is french you can easily pick out what its about by the simple actions of the music video. such as the childs father not reacting to anything while he sees other children dancing with their fathers. this metaphoricaly states  that his father is no where to be found be it work or domestic troubles. all in all the music video produces a powerful story. Although the song is sung in french you can still tell what the moral of the story is, as the translation for "papaoutai" means "father where are you"

In these stills the father seems motionless in all activities he partakes in, be it showering or eating. This perhaps portrays that the child's father is mentally not there for him.

The choreography in this music video is done to a very professional standard. All the dancers were specifically picked to look similar to play the role of daughter and mother or father and son.

The location chosen is a small village which I presume is in France. It is obviously filmed in a big studio which has many advantages as the producers can control the time of day, weather and lighting. It also gives it a doll house sort of feel as everything seems very tacky and plastic (unreal).
Especially when it comes to Stromae's (the main character) facial expression, which I'm sure he had some cosmetic help in pulling off a 'human doll look'.
